Today I have been fixing up my newly bought Bonjour Jackets. At least one of them needs the attention of a dry-cleaner.
Also I took my old inherited Bowler/ Derby hat, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bowler_hat to the hat-maker in Haga to get it enlarged just a smidge to fit comfortable.

Today I went to Liseberg.
Me and my grandmother, who is 80 years old tried out Balder. I was scared shitless, thou as my brother said, I could not stay on the ground while my grandmother went for it. That would have been beyond shameful.
Well I did it and I do not ever want to do it again.
Once was plenty.

I know the most of my friends already know this but I have had the luck to find the apartment of my dreams.
Its not big or new, its small and old. That is why I love it even before I have moved in.

It has soul.

The house it is in was built sometime between 1880-1930. It still has the original doors, with the old style brass-handles on the doors as well. The windowsills are deep, almost deep enough to use as a bench. The apartment has the most wonderful view from the kitchen of the inner garden of the house, with trees and a little pond. I will move in there the first of March. ^^

The night to Saturday the 6:th I could not sleep, so I went up at the crisp time of 04:30 in the night/extremely early morning.  As the day started I took buss 16 to my mothers place at 08:00. After I got home I went to my grandmas and picked up the mashed potato for the dinner.

After that I went home and slept for two hours before I finished up. Setting the table, prepared the food and such. Then I walked down to the Central Station, with my papers and the sign in a plastic bag. I came there 15 min. before the 14:15 train from Copenhagen.

I held up the sign, looking into the crowd that came off the train trying to spot the girls I was to guide. After I met them we said hallo and exchanged politeness. Then we went to Nils Erikssonplatsen where my father and his girlfriend waited with the car to drive Yoko and Moeko to their hotel.

After some confusion about where the hotel were situated we called them and found that they where not situated at Hisingen, it was close to Odinplaten. Hotel Albelle was at Baldersgatan 4 very close to Central Station. After dad left us at the hotel we went in. The booking had gone wrong, so instead of a room for two, it was one single room. The hotel made it into two single rooms for the same price.

After all the baggage had been left on the hotel rooms we went back to the Central Station to have some of the girls money changed into Swedish currency. After this we went on my little tour around the oldest, most interesting landmarks.  We started at Kronhusbodarna, where the oldest non dwelling building stands, built in red/black bricks in Dutch stile in 1643-1655.  There it was a market inside the house, so we went around inside for a while looking at traditional crafts. Then a friend of mine came and joined us: Daniel. He helped me with facts about the city history.

We walked over the grand channel, past the East India Trading Building, now a museum, for ten min. until we came to the Bastion Carlus Rex was built between 1621 and 1643. It was built on a dirtmound covered in stone. The bastion was a vital part of the city defences along with the moat and a huge dirtmound just outside the moat.

I made a connection in building stile of the Bastion to the stonebase of the Castle in Himeji. It was about the same angle on the walls, thou the stones was much smaller in the Bastion.

After the Bastion we walked over the moat out of the original city limit, to Haga, mentioned as early as 1637 then situated outside the citywalls but still inside Gothenburg shire.  It was Gothenburg’s first suburb. The area is today renowned for its picturesque wooden houses, 19th century-atmosphere and cafés. Originally a working class suburb of the city with a rather bad reputation, it was gradually transformed into a popular visiting place for tourists and Gothenburgers.

There was lots of outside markets and densely crowded. After Haga we walked up the looong looooong stonestair up to Skansen Kronan. It was built 1687 and took 13 years to finish. The tower four floors, built in an octagon with every other wall built smaller than the other. The walls are seven meter thick, built out of graystone. The first floor house the cannons and the second floor were for firearms.

In 1854 Kronan was used as a jail and in 1874 it was used as an emergency housing for the rapidly expanding population. From 1904 to 2004 it was a military museum. Now it is a rentable meeting locale for parties and other functions.
At this time it was dark and Kronan was lit in a impressive way. We also took pictures of the view, fantastic over the city with a myriad lights in the dark. The best view in the city.

After Kronan me, Yoko and Moeko took the bus home to my place and I gave them a small tour of the apartment ( This is the hall, this is the kitchen und so weiter) Then I had them sit down in the livingroom put a fire on the TV and served them warm Glögg, a kind of traditional wine with spices and gingerbread.

I showed some things I had made, mini paintings and a scroll I gave to Yokos mother as a present. The girls got the mini paintings.

While they ate gingerbread and Glögg, I prepared the food; Mached potatoes, handmade meatballs, made by me, brownsauce and lingonberries. To this I served Julmust, another traditional drink, kinda like Coca Cola but not really at all.
After the dinner I served a sweet kind of porridge and saftsause.

After the dinner we walked down to Liseberg and the Christmasmarket. It was a huge crowd, light in the trees, fake snow and people people people everywhere. We walked around and looked at crafts and such. We saw pigs, goats and raindeers.

After Liseberg closed at 22:00 we went to a private party at Hisingen, we where invited by Daniel. At the party we drank more Glögg and had a nice time. There wehere some people that studied Japanese, and was eager to try it out on Yoko and Moeko. Daniel made a joke about how he had a T- Shirt where it said in Japanese: “I love Hentai” Thou cos of the loud music it just came out as “I love Hentai.” This made quite an embarrassed pause, until it was cleared up.

At 24:00 Yoko, Moeko and me left the party and took tram nr 5 back to the city centre, I walked them to the hotel, they waited while I called a cab and then at around 01:00 in the night, I crashed into bed and fell asleep.

The next day we met up outside the hotel, checked out, and brought their bags to the Central Station to lock them in before heading out on town again, before their train left. I offered to carry their bags but they wanted to carry them themselves.

After we locked in the bags we walked to Kronhusbodarna again, and then back to Haga, where we made some shopping in a shop where they sold only hartshaped stuff. I bought a birthdaypresent to Moeko whose birthday was the next day, aka today.

so: HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOEKO!!! ^^

After that we went and ate a traditional lunch; Raggmunkar and fläsk,  a kind of potatoepanncake and a kind of thick bacon.
Then we had to run to the trainstation, get the bags and then I got the girls onto the train two seconds before the doors closed. We waved goodbye cos we did not have time for a proper goodbye.

I had a very nice time, and I tried very hard for the girls to have an un-forgetful fun time here as well. The only thing I regret was that I had them walk so much and that it was such a hectic schedule. I also managed to hurt my legs while climbing the long stair. Well that is all better now. ^^

Since I did not have time to say goodbye in person I sent a mail to Yoko and Moeko thanking them for this awsome time.

XD

Kort karriär men minnesvärd, för mig iallafall.

I where at a exhibition about the Sámi people art and life.

I like going to those, and I am also a support-member of the Sámi people of Gothenburg club.
I am really interested in the art, customs, history and religion of the Sámi.

The only thing is that I usually get severe cases of guilt by association when the issue of oppression by government - historic and ongoing of the Sámi people - comes up. I tend to take the collected guilt of my peoples crimes against the Sámi as my fault and my doing, even if I know this is not the case. I still feel the guilt thou. Its crushing.

I have a tendency to take on guilt for things, and it tends to stick for years. I try to work on this issue but I still have the guilt there waiting.
Its like I have to excuse myself to the world for existing, This may be cos I was bullied as a kid, and the reason being, from the bullies mouth "Cos you exist!"

After that my confidence shattered. I still have issues with self-confidence and as mentioned guilt.

Anyway, I am saving up to buy a Sámi knife, they´re expensive. I got an old one but its fake and ugly. Its my "Fulkniv"

I am sorry for not giving off a life-sign for so long. Nothing has really happened in my life so far, well things have happened, I became a godfather to my brothers daughter Alexane, but nothing job related has happened. I do the odd paint the house job, lawn some grass and such like for some money so I have gotten enough money for a couple of months cellphone bills. ^^ Now I am planning to get enough money to buy a months subscription to the tram ans bus system.

I have tried to not get bored out of my scull, or getting cabinfever, things that tend to bud up after prolonged times of unemployment.
I do seek work a lot, but not many answer.... I do have hope now thou, got some help from a friend of my brothers. I was also at a meeting for employers and wanna be employed people. There where some work of intreset that I wrote my name down for.

I have started to play Assassins Creed a lot, that is a fun game. ^^ Made a fanart pic. its at my DA account. You who know me there have probably already seen it.

Anyway that is what I have to say for now.

Later.

I also got a Cod but I let it back into the sea. Its fun to get so much fish untill you realize that the one that has to clean and gut all the fish is also you. Anyway they are prepared now and tonight we have fresh fish for dinner! Horray!!!
